1000 kW to 10 MW installed capacity: A commercial investment partnership promotion program for foreign investors and local partners, so far mainly in China, destined to prepare larger SHP projects using new financing instruments like carbon funds and CDM.

The renewable energy Investment Program relies on investment from industrialised countries into joint projects with local partners in developing countries. Regional and North-South co-operation are essential and projects are purely commercial.

Options for foreign investors are either in FDI (foreign direct investment), or BOT (buy-operate-transfer) & other in new sites, in refurbishment of old ones or a combination of both.
